Reigate and Redhill sit at the foot of the North Downs, around 30–40 minutes from our Sutton base. Reigate Hill, immediately north of the town, is a National Trust property forming the northern edge of the Surrey Hills AONB. The chalk escarpment supports significant mature beech and yew, and the surrounding private gardens often contain mature parkland-quality specimens that require sensitive management.

The M23/Gatwick corridor runs through the eastern edge of the borough — Salfords, Horley, the southern fringe of Redhill. Each carries six weeks' notification requirements.

Soil conditions across the borough vary significantly. The northern half sits on chalk dip-slope and the Gault clay below; the central section runs across the Greensand Ridge through Reigate Hill; the south is on Wealden clays. Each geology generates different species, drainage and management characteristics.

Common species across the borough include English oak (parkland, hedgerow, AONB woodland), beech (chalk-soil specimens, the AONB escarpment), yew (the chalk escarpment), Scots pine and silver birch (greensand ridge), ash (now compromised by dieback), sweet chestnut, hornbeam, lime (formal avenues, conservation areas) and a wide range of ornamental specimens in the larger gardens.

Gatton Park, Priory Park Reigate and Holmwood Common contain substantial heritage tree stock and influence the tree work in the surrounding private gardens. Sensitive species-appropriate handling and conservation-aware specification apply to boundary trees.

The M23/Gatwick corridor through the eastern borough generates a substantial commercial workload — distribution warehouses, aviation-related estates, road-side commercial landscape maintenance.
